Orange-cheeked Thrush / Turdus fuscater

It is a medium-sized bird, very common in Andean cities such as Medellín. It has uniform grayish-brown plumage, a lighter belly, dark eyes with a thin ring, and a characteristic yellow-orange beak. It is often seen walking on the ground looking for food or singing from poles and tall trees.

Fun fact:

It is one of the earliest birds to sing. Its loud, melodious song at dawn is one of the most typical sounds of mornings in the Aburrá Valley.
