Red-bellied Chango (Hypopyrrhus pyrohypogaster)

An endemic bird of the Colombian Andes, easily recognizable by its shiny black body and striking bright red belly. It moves in small groups through the canopy of the rainforest, feeding on fruit and insects.

Fun fact: its song is loud and distinctive, and it often mimics sounds from its surroundings, making it difficult to locate by ear alone.
